I think if there are certain characters or symbols in font folder, Inkscape won't read it. If you installed it, you won't need to put font file in your font folder anymore and you can put it elsewhere if you want.ģ. Some fonts won't work unless you install them on the windows to function properly like Layered fonts or even sometimes normal fonts with ttf or otf !!! (Try first to put in your font folder before installing it, if it doesn't work, then you will have to install it and remember to install it by right click on it then choose "Install for all users" because sometimes Inkscape won't recognize it if you installed it for one user).
